So of course I had to sneak this into my pile of reads. What an exciting adventure into the world of Fallen, Nephilims and its edgy concepts on archangels with its conflicting new perspectives on Lucifer.  Douglas creates this dark world where deep resentments runs in the blood of the Fallen, those who have lived their lives in an eternal curse for their chosen flight against God’s Heaven. I realize that Fabio is no longer available for cover shots,  but if Raziel has hair then why does the Fallen cover not have that feature. I guess I’ll just have to imagine that it’s Raziel with his hair tied up in a super high pony tail or that he got a buzz cut before slaying the Nephilims who would harm Allie. Overall I loved this first book in the Fallen series. I already have number 2 Demon - Azazel’s tale of fighting his attraction to his immortal enemy. Get ready for an all nighter with Raziel and the sensation of being caught in the wings of the Fallen.

Chapter One

I fought my way through the mists of confusion - my mind felt as if it were filled with cotton candy. Something was wrong. Something was very wrong.

Don’t struggle,” the man beside me said in a remote voice. “It only makes it worse. If you’ve lived a good life, you have nothing to be afraid of.”

I looked at him in horror. Lightning split open the sky, followed by the thunder that shook the earth. The solid rock face in front of us began to groan, a deep, rending sound that echoed to the heavens.

Excerpt from The Fallen: Raziel page 14

Allie Watson life is cut short as she steps off the curb and get hit by a bus, yet she remembers nothing of the pain  instead she is confronted by the dark Fallen angel Raziel who must take her to the gates of death.  At the very last minute when she must enter the gates, Raziel finds he can not release her to fires of Hell.

Now Raziel must content with keeping Allie safe against the flesh eating Nephilims and the repercussions of going against archangel Uriel’s order to deliver her.  The Fallen angels have gathered in their safe haven Sheol  to prepare themselves for the fight that will bring the wrath of the Heavens upon them.
