Chapter One
He was standing in the corner of the stairwell on the bottom floor, watching her. He’d pulled his wings around him, disappearing; though she searched her surroundings, she saw nothing, and moved on.
More proof of her power, the power she was trying so hard to disguise. No one else sensed him when he cloaked himself. But she did. Her awareness was as acute as his. And he hated that. …
… He knew where he would take her - as far away as humanly possible from this place. To the other side of the world, one of the few places where the scourge known as the Nephilim still thrived.
What better place for a demon?
He waved a hand and the parking garage plunged into darkness, evey light extinguished. He could feel her sudden panic, which surprised him. He wouldn’t have thought demons feared the darkness. She started running, but her car was parked midway down, and he spread his wings and took her.
Excerpt from The Fallen: Demon pages 13-14.
The immortal Fallen angel, Azazel’s cursed life is haunted by the prophecy of the Lilith being his true mate, where their unbreakable bond will create a dynasty to rule the Underworld. Azazel can not fathom such a union and is determined to slay the demon in whatever form it comes in to avoid such a fate. The Lilith has been found in the form of Rachel Fitzpatrick, a young woman who is plagued by a profound memory loss and the terrible feeling she is the cause of death of innocents.
Azazel confronted by Rachel’s presence is confused by the emotions that strike them, a mark that the prophecy conjured to be very real. Despite his attempts to annihilate her, he finds himself desperately clinging to the Demon against his better judgement. He whisked her to the Fallen safe haven Sheol where its head leader Raziel demands that she be delivered to Beloch’s Dark City to uncover Lucifer’s den.
Rachel finds herself pitted against demons and angels, avowing to all who would listen of her innocence against the claims of being the Lilith. The one person she needs most is trying to kill her soul and ironically Azazel is the one who ignites her passion in the destructive wake to destroy her eternally.
Ultimately- would the prophecy unite or destroy them both in this immortal battle of angels and demons?

Kristina Douglas’ The Fallen: Demon does it again! Yes, it was another all nighter - 2 nights in a row of back to back Douglas Fallen reads. I loved this one far more than the first book Raziel for its daring take on its immortal battles between Fallen angels and demons.
I could not get enough Azazel though he is one of the most brooding dark heros to come out of Sheol. His spirit is shaken to the core by the death of his recent love and now he’s pitted against the ultimate prophecy of being mated with the most hated demon - Lilith, a seducer of men, a succubus who brings the death of innocent babies. Now who would want one’s future to be tied to such an ominous figure. Left in the same position, I’d be fighting this one with every power in me too.
Azazel mixed reactions to the she demon Rachel makes it all the more intense. We find ourselves embroiled in his emotions with carnal thoughts that have them engrossed in scorching wet dreams. Have I mentioned HAWT - chili pepper HAWT with torrid scenes that verge on making you squirm while reading. Do not read in public areas… stay in the confines of your house… trust me… HAWT!
Douglas creates this underworld with intense creativity, harbouring on notions of the evil that looms in the Dark City. Creepy creatures that fester in the shadows and the demons that manoeuvre the streets, wrecking havoc on its dark citizens. The shills run through you as you tour the city with Azazel, you’d sooner wish to be “out” than stuck since it exudes an overwhelming aura of malice. You can smell fumes of the rotting decay - death is your only companion.
My only lament… the COVER! What happened to AZAZEL and who is the Fallen angel on the cover of Demon?? Did someone mix up Raziel with Azazel? Why you ask… let me describe Azazel verbatim from the book:
… I took a good look at him. By some standards he might even be considered attractive. Hell, freaking gorgeous - if it weren’t for the incredible coldness in his blue eyes. He had long, straight, very black hair, pale skin, a narrow face with finely chiseled high cheekbones, a thin mouth, and a strong nose.
Excerpt The Fallen: Demon page 22
So take a look again at the cover… who is this Fallen angel then??? I agree with Felicia completely on the cover. Don’t get me wrong I do love the cover but it doesn’t represent Azazel correctly. Maybe I’ll just pretend it’s Raziel falling with Azazel lurking in the clouds waiting to zoom in to rescue him.
